Ebb Bayley (they/he) is a painter based between Berlin and Seattle. Their work takes a speculative approach to mythology and folklore- focused on creatures positioned at the edge of the human.

Ebb retells stories of transformation and cautionary tales through a transgender lens. Painting is deployed as a form of collection and recounting. The framing of saint, icon and archetype is put towards a heroic positioning of monstrous creature-kin. The dissolving forms and static surfaces in the work reflect Ebb’s own vision and visual disability.
